The location of this place is really convenient, and the budget rooms are just 3 km from St Matthew.

The staff here were fantastic and really paid attention to us, the location is comfortable and convenient, and there's a great lively pub nearby with a good atmosphere and tasty desserts.

The rooms were reasonably large & budget with lovely views. I liked excellent breakfast and its OUTSTANDING variety. Location: the hotel was near to restaurants in pretty Barlborough, restaurant of fish and chips and St Mary's Chesterfield.

Enjoyed my time here. The staff knew their stuff, so I'll definitely be back next time. Had a great time, had a really pleasant holiday stay. Grabbed some strong drinks at the English bar in the evening. 🍸

No frills compact room but good value for money. Great music nights that are noisy and run on till very late, but we enjoyed that. Friendly efficient owners. Good English breakfast and good food menu. Plenty of easy access parking.

Live music on Saturday was a real treat and very unexpected. Beds comfortable, people friendly.

Room small for a twin. Breakfast had tinned tomatoes! Would have preferred fresh it felt like I was eating puree.

The hotel had a great location, conveniently situated near major roads and attractions. We also appreciated the fact that the hotel provided free parking, which made it easy for us to bring our own car and explore the area. Another advantage was the friendly staff who were always willing to help with any inquiries or requests we had.

Our experience at this hotel was far from enjoyable. The rooms were incredibly small and cramped, making it difficult for us to move around comfortably.

Adrian (the Landlord) who was an excellent host and most of the other staff that we met. I think it is best described as "Cheap and cheerful" - where you definitely get what you pay for ! For our trip it was close to our destination and easily accessible. The views from the back of the pub were ok - the proximity of the motorway (the noise) detracted from this a bit. Parking was good - plenty of it. The food on the carvery was good with plenty of choice - this was the best meal we had during our stay.

Our room was a bit tired - even though we were given an 'upgrade' to a family room. There was mould around the bath and on the shower curtain. The shower curtain was broken in a couple of places where it hung from the rings. The towel rail was hanging off the wall and the valance on the single bed was dirty. We were only there for 2 nights but it appeared that no member of staff attended to our room during our stay. The beds weren't made and the tea / coffee making facilities not replenished (if we hadn't washed our own tea cups thet would have stayed dirty). Finally, most of the food we ordered was overcooked / burnt (except the carvery which was good).
